The PACE Institute of Technology and Sciences (PACE ITS) is extremely dedicated to solving industrial needs/problems. The PACE ITS conducts cutting-edge research in engineering and basic sciences. The institute faculty are continuously interacting with Government Organizations, Research Foundations, and Industries for taking up consultancy and sponsored research projects. Most PACE ITS proposals to industrial sponsors arise from discussions between PACE ITS faculty and technical managers/managing directors of a prospective sponsor industry. The topics will be identified by sponsoring industry and PACE ITS faculty (normally referred to as Principal Investigator (PI)) with mutual interest. The PI drafts the statement of work to address the industrial needs/problems within a budget that the company can afford to pay to PACE ITS. A detailed project proposal is created once the review is done by sponsoring industry.
The ICSR office of the PACE ITS operates through delegation of authority from the institute trustees as a unit of the office of the Chairman, Vice President, and Secretary. As mentioned above, the institute has a structured consultancy, sponsored research policy, and a centralized mechanism. The ICSR office accomplishes these administrative matters and coordinates all consultancy and sponsored projects.
Dr. Mallikarjunachari G is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and currently Dean for Industrial Consultancy and Sponsored Research (ICSR), PACE ITS.
